GIVING LETTER (Begins September, ANNUAL and ongoing)
Each family is asked to donate 33.33 per month or $400 for the year with a letter going home and then a follow up phone call in September. 100% of the money raises funds for school day enrichment programs such as Physical Education, Computers, Art and Performing Arts. 100% participation is our goal! |

WESTFIELD SHOPPING CENTER (September to January 31)
Westfield's Fashion Square Mall runs a contest between September and January 31st. Dixie gets points for every dollar you spend in the stores and restaurants at Fashion Square. To participate and support Dixie, simply take your receipts from any store or restaurant in the mall to the information desk, show them your receipts and tell them you're with Dixie Canyon. They will stamp your reciepts and credit Dixie. You can also get your receipts stamped by leaving them in the Westfield receipts box in the front office. Dixie Canyon has come in 1st Place 2 years in a row! Also, look for Shop For A Cause Day where Dixie gets money for every voucher turned in. Last year we raised over $2500 form this program which went directly back to the classroom and toward PE equipment for the play yard. |

RESTAURANT NIGHTS(September to June) Many of the local restaurants generously give to Dixie throughout the year. Many of the restaurants also set up special "Restaurant Nights" with Dixie and donate 15% of your lunch or dinner bill to Dixie Canyon when you dine on the designated day. Just bring the restaurant night flyer that your student brings home from school and tell them you're from Dixie. SPELL-A-THON (March 2008 - date TBA)
Support your child and Dixie. Make a pledge from $1 - $100. This fundraiser encourages children to be great spellers! |

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR (April 21 - April 25, 2008; coordinated with Open House)
Students go through during their allotted class time to look and purchase books supplied by scholastic. This is a week long event and is usually held open during recess and lunch time as well. Additionally, it is open the evening of Open House. |

DINNER & DANCE AUCTION GALA (Saturday, April 26, 2008)
This is the biggest fundraiser of the year! Held at CBS Studios Radford Avenue, Studio City. Numerous items are donated-trips, hotel stays, restaurants, movie and sports memorabilia, clothing, jewelry, DVD's and many more. Come bid on items well under face-value and support DIXIE. GENTLY USED BOOK & MEDIA EXCHANGE (May 23, 2008)
This is a chance to clean out your adult/children's book shelves. Bring books, videos and game cartridges you no longer read/use and PTA will issue a coupon for you to exchange them for similar items. Donate your gently used items and pick up something new to you. |

STAFF APPRECIATION LUNCHEON (May 30, 2008)
This event gives parents a chance to thank all our hard-working and deserving staff. PTA provides a catered lunch with tables/umbrellas and decorations to thank over 100 staff members. There are raffle prizes given as well as each teacher receives Maria's Pizza gift cards from PTA. |

SPRING DANCE (June 13, 2008)
Come celebrate the arrival of summer --all parents and students are welcome after school for this fun event! Popcorn, drinks and ice cream are sold while the whole school dances to a Live DJ. |

SCRIP/eSCRIP (ANNUAL and ongoing)
Purchase $100 of scrip gift certificates/cards for Macy's, Starbuck's, Best Buy, and many other retailers, and you will receive the same amount in gift cards for that particular store. These stores give back a percentage of the gift card's face value (from 1-20%) to Dixie Canyon. The money accrued is awarded to our teachers for classroom supplies throughout the year. Last year, every teacher received $300 which was used directly for classroom supplies. Remember, SCRIP costs you absolutely nothing extra! Look for Patra, Daniela or Meg around school, or contact them via phone or email, or fill out the order form. Patra is in front of the school every Tuesday morning. RALPH'S CARD AND OTHER LOCAL GROCERY STORES (ANNUAL and ongoing)

TARGET'S TAKE CHARGE OF EDUCATION (ANNUAL and ongoing)
Simply shop at Target with your target card and Dixie automatically gets a share of the proceeds! Call target Customer Services at 888-755-5856 and tell them you want to sign up for their Take Charge of Education program so you can support your child's school. |

BOXTOPS (ANNUAL and ongoing)
General Mills food products offers 10 cents for each Box Top label. Bring them in and drop them off in the container located in the main office. We mail them in 2 times a year (October and March). This is free money for our school. |

SCHOOLPOP AND SCHOOLCASH (ANNUAL and ongoing)

CORPORATE MATCHING DONATIONS (ANNUAL and ongoing)
Be sure to check with your employer to see if they have a "matching fund" donation program for charitable organizations. Most times it takes only a few minutes to sign up through the HR department. |

STUDENT EMERGENCY SURVIVAL KITS (September 2007)
PTA provides inexpensive pre-made survival kits for purchase because the school district requires that each student have a 3-day survival kit in the case of an emergency such as an earthquake. |

PTA STUDENT HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE (November 29-30, December 3, 4 and 5, 2007)
This is a time when our children can shop for their family and friends in our student holiday store. Items are all under $10, with most of them under $5. Kids walk through during their allotted class time and are able to purchase items. |

COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY COMMUNITY LETTER (August 2007): "Friedman Charitable Foundation Matching Technology Grant"
Local businesses and realtors were solicited to "buy" a fence banner at Dixie Canyon Avenue School for $1000. 250+ Dixie database members were also solicited, as were the community and parents, to donate money toward this worthy cause. Money raised was matched at $4 for every $1 raised to buy equipment to update Dixie Computer Lab. We reached out goal and raised $10,000 which became $50,000 with the generous matching grant from the Friedman Foundation! |
