Wonder of Reading
"The Wonder of Reading program exists to inspire in children the love of reading." Since the Wonder of Reading Organization renovated the Dixie library, we have had several dozen volunteer reading partners working one-on-one with below grade level readers. They meet each week for one (1) hour in our beautiful library. The children are so proud and gain so much confidence through this program, while also improving their reading and comprehension skills. The Wonder of Reading created an inviting environment where children can explore worlds beyond their own, where they can experience the wonder of reading.
Join the Birthday Book Club
- Donate a hard covered book appropriate for elementary school readers with copyright no older than 2004 (if questions, please call the office)
- Fiction
- Non-fiction
- Poetry
- Biographies
- Fairy Tales
- Special bookplate placed inside cover acknowledging the birthday child
- Monthly display of the "Birthday Books" along with Child's name and birthday
- Drop-off book at library or front office - Attention: Martha
- Please print child's full name, full birth date and grade on piece of paper taped to book
